WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be an essential part of our growing Philanthropy team, actively managing a portfolio of annual donors while building a pipeline for planned giving and grant funding. You’ll cultivate meaningful relationships, craft compelling messaging in collaboration with our marketing team, and play a key role in growing philanthropic support for Lutheran Life Villages. Your responsibilities will include:

Deep understanding and communicating LLV’s mission, vision, values, and culture to inspire giving.

Identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective donors.

Growing and managing a planned giving program, including marketing and stewardship strategies.

Expanding a grant program by identifying funding opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with funders.

Collaborating across departments to ensure consistent and engaging donor messaging and donation management.

Setting and achieving performance goals related to donor engagement and revenue.

Utilizing Raiser’s Edge NXT to track donor interactions, maintain records, and generate reports.

Demonstrating appreciation for donors and clearly communicating the impact of their gifts.

Participating in professional development and keeping current with fundraising trends.

Supporting the Director of Philanthropy and team on events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives.

WHAT YOU NEED

Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, or relationship management - or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:

- Passion for senior care, nonprofit leadership, and building strong relationships.

- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with attention to detail.
- Ability to inspire donors and communicate impact clearly and meaningfully.
- Familiarity with fundraising practices including the donor engagement cycle.
- Willingness to travel and engage with donors regularly.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, collaborative approach to team dynamics and organizational culture.
