Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised event management professional to join our busy Philanthropy team in Helensvale. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the national fundraising events program designed to increase the number of active supporters of Yalari, generate revenue to fund our programs and identify high-value prospects for sponsorships, major gifts and gifts in wills.

Responsibilities

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for:

Coordinating the delivery of the annual series of fundraising dinners and cocktail function program nationally with the assistance of the Events and Administration Officer. These dinners attract between 300-800 people and are a flagship event for our brand.
Managing the state based dinner committees and meetings.
Coordinating the participation of Yalari supporters to attend student and alumni camps.
Coordinating volunteers for the fundraising events working closely with the Business Services Administration Officer.
Managing the administration of the Pathways Scholarship recipient program working closely with the Alumni and Pathways engagement team.
Training and supervising office volunteers to support donor care, data management and event support.

This role is a pivotal event role within our Philanthropy team and works closely across our Student Support and Alumni and Pathways teams.

Key Capabilities and Competencies

The Event Coordinator will demonstrate:

Highly developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise opportunities and projects, manage competing priorities, work within time frames and meet deadlines.
Ability to influence and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholder groups internally and externally.
Strong numerical and analytical skills including a high level of expertise in manipulating, interrogating and presenting data using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral with excellent attention to detail.
Proven positive team player with an ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader cross-functional team.
Financial literacy with an ability to build and manage budgeted expenditure.

Qualifications

Qualifications and/or at least 3-5 years’ experience in event management or similar relevant business disciplines required.
