POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Philanthropy Officer (SPO) is primarily responsible for raising major philanthropic gifts to fund college scholarships through the Leadership 1000 Scholarship Program, awarding college scholarships to students from low-income families in Washington State. Additionally, the SPO leads major gift fundraising for the foundation in support the Foundation's overall fundraising strategy. A significant portion of this role includes the cultivation and stewardship of scholarship donors and facilitating contacts between College Success Foundation (CSF) scholars and their benefactors.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors in order to obtain specific annual goals.
- Personally solicit and steward donors and prospects, conducting a minimum of seven meetings every month. Arrange donor/CSF leadership meetings as appropriate to secure scholarship gifts to meet yearly goals, including multi-year commitments.
- Maintain accurate records of all pledged gifts and donor contacts in SalesForce. Produce activity reports as needed.
- Plan and facilitate donor/scholar meetings and interactions.
- Supervise Major Gift Officer and lead major gift strategy and execution.
- Regularly interact with L1000 scholars as indicated to maintain donor relationships.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential scholarship donors. Represent CSF at networking (business and social) events in the community to expand CSF's potential donor base.
- Work in coordination with the Director of Development with donor cultivation and stewardship utilizing CSF programs, CSF leadership, and special events.
- Work closely with Director of Scholarship & Financial Aid Education Program to identify and match students with donor scholarship preferences and criteria.
- Annually send student update documents to donors for new L1000 and renewing L1000 scholars.
- Assist the Director of Development to increase overall giving to CSF.
- Contribute as an active team member through inviting current and prospective L1000 donors to CSF events and volunteer opportunities.
