The primary purpose of the talent pool is to find candidates to work closely with our team to support various initiatives to promote and protect human rights, mainly focusing on vulnerable populations. The officer will gain valuable experience in research, advocacy, and program implementation within international human rights law and humanitarian principles.

Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: I assist in researching human rights issues, including, but not limited to, discrimination, violence, displacement, and access to justice. I analyze data and prepare reports to support advocacy efforts.
- Advocacy Support: Help develop and implement advocacy strategies to address human rights violations. This may include drafting advocacy materials, preparing briefs, and meeting key stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Documentation: Support the monitoring of human rights situations in specific regions or contexts. Document human rights violations and assist in preparing reports for internal and external dissemination.
- Capacity Building: Contribute to the development and delivery of capacity-building initiatives that empower communities to understand and advocate for their rights.
- Program Support: Help plan, coordinate, and implement protection programs, including workshops, training, and awareness-raising campaigns.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within the organization and with external partners, including local NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations.
- Monitor and document human rights violations and abuses, including cases of discrimination, violence, and exploitation, in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings, working groups, and inter-agency forums to ensure alignment with national and international protection standards and guidelines.
- Facilitate workshops and awareness-raising sessions on gender equality, child protection, conflict resolution, and other relevant issues.
- Provide support in delivering psychosocial support services, legal assistance, and access to essential services for beneficiaries.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the protection and human rights team, including organizing meetings, maintaining databases, and other duties as assigned.
- Support reviewing internal guidance and policy papers.
- Follow the Universal Periodic Review and other relevant human rights mechanisms and contribute to discussions and to the Human Rights Team’s work in supporting Regional Hubs and Country Offices.
- Carry out all other related tasks assigned as agreed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree program in human rights, international relations, law, social sciences, political science, development studies or related field. Strong understanding of international human rights law and principles.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in protection, human rights, refugee assistance, or related fields, preferably within an international NGO or humanitarian organization.
- Strong understanding of international human rights law, refugee law, and protection principles.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages, particularly Arabic, French, or Spanish, is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice, and equality.
- Previous experience volunteering or interning with NGOs, particularly in the field of human rights or protection, is desirable.
