Our nonprofit organization seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations and ensure long-term financial health and stability. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and a proven track record of financial leadership.
Responsibilities:
● Financial Planning and Analysis:
○ Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
○ Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
○ Prepare regular financial reports and analyses for the board of directors and senior leadership.
● Financial Operations:
○ Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
○ Manage cash flow and ensure timely payment of obligations.
○ Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures.
● Fundraising and Donor Relations:
○ Collaborate with the development team to identify and cultivate potential donors.
○ Manage donor databases and track contributions.
○ Prepare donor reports and acknowledgments.
● Board and Staff Relations:
○ Provide financial advice and guidance to the board of directors.
○ Work closely with program directors and staff to support their financial needs.
○ Foster strong relationships with external auditors and other financial professionals.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
● CPA certification required.
● Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in nonprofit financial management is a must.
● Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
● Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Experience with nonprofit fundraising.
● Knowledge of Grant management and compliance for not-for-profit organizations.
● Proficiency in financial software and systems.
Location: Monsey, NY
Salary: $150K-$250K
