Compensation:
- In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Role Summary
As a Vision Rehabilitation Instructor, you will be pivotal in supporting children, youth, and families facing life’s toughest challenges. Whether you provide hands-on case management, help to develop life skills, or provide emotional support, your work will directly impact the lives of those we serve.
What We’re Looking For:

- Experience working in social services, education, mental health, or related fields (preferred but not required)

How you will Impact Change:
- Teaches Braille, when appropriate, using electronic note takers with refreshable Braille displays.
- Writes monthly reports and progress reports for each student and deliver these reports promptly as they are due.
- Occasionally provides instruction in using Assistive Technology hardware, including but not limited to personal computers with speech, refreshable Braille displays, laser printer, Braille printer, and portable computer note-takers.
- Occasionally provides instruction in the use of Assistive Technology hardware, including but not limited to: screen access programs, software that accesses Windows environment, Braille translation software, reading program for scanner system.
- Prepare case notes on DR consumer progress and keep the notes on the shared drive in the student folder each week.
