Position Summary: Oversee the general running of the kitchen and dining rooms for the senior center.Responsible for assisting the kitchen staff with task assignments, ordering food, maintaining inventory, and delivery of food.Accountable for ensuring that the DFTA requirements are met and that all mandated reports are completed and submitted on schedule.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Cook(s) to prepare and submit all mandated DFTA reports, including but not limited to, the six month DFTA mandated e-menu, and the e-form for food usage.
- Order all food.Compare prices and place orders appropriately.Ensure all food is delivered as ordered, that all invoices are reviewed and checked against the order, and the item’s costs are properly reflected.
- Prepare weekly raw food cost schedule to ensure food purchased is at budgeted amount.
- Prepare all food invoices for payment, ensuring packing slips are included and the proper authorization and sign-off has been completed.
- Maintain and count inventory on a weekly basis.Maintain food storage area in an orderly manner.
- Assist the Cook in assigning kitchen tasks to staff and volunteers.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Adheres to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.

- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.
Salary Ranges: $21 - $23 per hour commensurate with experience.
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training required
- Should be knowledgeable in the proper mixing and use of common cleaning solutions
- Computer literate
- Excellent verbal, mathematical, and written skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail
Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
- Business office environment with phone and computer use.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes and airborne particles, and occasional risk of electrical shock.
