The Arc Prince George’s County serves more than 600 individuals with disabilities through a variety of programs, services and supports. Our primary areas of support are community living, family and personal supports, employment services, and day programs - all with an emphasis on person-centered community involvement and inclusion.
Reporting to the Division Director, the Deputy will be responsible for translating the mission and vision of the departments through managing and monitoring all clinical and administrative operations in our Community Living and Personal Supports programs, which consist of approximately 475 people supported, served by 500 employees.
Demonstrates leadership and oversight of the development, planning, and coordination of strategic work associated with developmental programs and services; facilitating community engagement to identify areas of need and enhance capacity for serving those needs; and, connecting people supported with a broad spectrum of state, county and community-based resources and services to help them be safe, be healthy, and realize their potential.
The Deputy will directly oversee the remote supports program.

Manage and lead four directors.

Communicating with co-workers, representatives of other agencies, as appropriate, information about people served, staff, or the home/work site.

Communicating in ways that meet the needs of people (e.g. sign language, adaptive devices, and common language).

Communicating regularly with other service providers the ongoing needs identified during planning meetings to discuss human and financial resource concerns and develop contingency plans.

Modeling professional communication and disposition at all times, including being responsive to all types of communication in a timely manner (telephone, email, text messages, etc.).

Participate in vacancy reporting meetings.

Interviewing, training, evaluating and supervising personnel assigned to the Community Living Services.

Reviewing, approving and submitting time sheets, travel vouchers, or other reimbursement forms.

Assuring all assigned staff meet agency requirements for training.

Provide effective coaching for performance, mentoring and discipline as needed.

Conducts monthly documented management, Supervisors and staff meetings to offer direction, guidance and support in each area of oversight.

Conducts individual supervision at a minimum of monthly with all direct reports; Subject to review by Human Resources, Chief of Staff, Chief Program Officer, Quality Assurance and the Chief Executive Officer in relation to investigations, court proceedings or other critical business purposes.

Making appropriate decisions in routine situations.

Responding appropriately in emergency situations to assure safety and wellbeing for everyone.

Establish a network of agency and community resources that can be accessed to provide support.

Participate on RFP and vendor selection committees for purposes of contracting services and negotiations for services that support people living in Arc locations.

Routinely sharing knowledge of resources with direct reports and the entire division.

In partnership with the Manager of Facilities Management, Directors, Program Managers and Service Coordinators-ensures that homes, grounds, and equipment are maintained and meet all regulation requirements for state and county licensing.

In cooperation with the Director of Quality Assurance, the Director performs periodic site evaluations as recommended by the QA Director.

Service on safety committee.

Develops resources for resolving maintenance needs and purchasing.

Conducts random site visits to the community locations quarterly and/or in schedule with Manager of Facilities Management for Capital Improvement planning.

Develops policies and procedures for clear and consistent health service delivery.

Through guidance of the team, ensures proper medication storage compliance, and timely health care delivery for all people supported.

Will work routinely with the Office of Business and Resource Development on projects related to Grant funding. This may involve short term initiatives involving coordination with Community Living staff, management and individuals.
