Job Description
Crowe MacKay LLP’s Edmonton office is seeking a qualified full-time, Senior Tax Specialist Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be a designated accountant, public practice career-focused individual who is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm wanting to develop their skills in income taxation. This will be a progressive position with opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of tax files
- Preparation and review of personal, corporate and trust income tax returns
- Undertaking tax research with guidance from senior specialists
- Undertaking tax projects under supervision of senior specialists
- Liaise with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
- Develop strategies for clients to capitalize on business opportunities
- Identify and document tax filing positions, including risk analysis
- Research and analysis of a variety of tax issues
- Prepare internal and external client correspondence
Qualifications
- CPA designation
- 2-4 years’ experience in public accounting, Tax experience an asset
- Enrolled, or willing to enroll, in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course
- Familiarity with CaseWare, Microsoft Office and Tax Prep
- Ability to interact with clients, co-workers, Managers and Partners
- Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Values teamwork, client/customer service, professionalism, quality in detailed work, community involvement, personal and professional growth
