Job Summary
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the TechWomen program empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Europe, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East. Through professional and cultural mentorship and the development of impact projects, TechWomen participants gain access to global networks, resources, and knowledge to reach their full potential and become catalysts for impact in their home communities.
The Program Coordinator, Communications, and Operations provides logistical and administrative support for all aspects of the TechWomen program. The Program Coordinator supports various projects in adherence with all sponsor, contractual, and IIE guidelines. This position is focused on implementing communications strategy, data management, application and selection support, and other logistical needs. This position communicates extensively with various internal and external stakeholders and supports other administrative activities as needed.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinates and executes key portions of program planning and implementation, including elements of the program’s communications strategy, application testing, and design, and the applicant selection process.
• Implements global outreach efforts by maintaining the program website, supporting social media engagement, and producing videos, reports, infographics, blog posts, etc. to demonstrate program impact.
• Supports and leads communication and collaborations with entities outside of the immediate program team, including other IIE teams and external contacts, to develop and deliver essential program pieces (i.e. Slate application system).
• Facilitates selection committees and maintains relationships with the program volunteer community to select program participants and carry out program objectives.
• Maintains data integrity through instituting best practices and training for databases that track detailed program information and are used for program data analysis.
• Manages the TechWomen inbox, responding to inquiries from prospective applicants and the general public.
• Assists with processing of payments via PeopleSoft, expense reporting, tracking expenditures and cost share, and event reporting.
• Leads procurement and contracting for program operations, including photographers, videographers/video editors, administrative support and others as needed.
• Interacts with external stakeholders, including press/media, vendors, consultants, and contractors to professionally represent the TechWomen program and IIE.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Work Experience:
• Requires a Associate's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Keen ability to adapt to various situations and solve problems efficiently and effectively.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites – intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including ability to analyze data and produce data visualizations, desired.
• Basic understanding and interest in logistical coordination.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; sensitive to cultural differences when working with people from other cultures.
• Ability and willingness to provide onsite event support outside of traditional working hours, including some nights and weekends, during participants’ stay in the US (September and October).
• Knowledge of graphic design, Mailchimp, and social media platforms such as Hootsuite and Sked Social desired.
• Knowledge of basic to intermediate website administration through WordPress and other platform essential.
• Passion for and/or experience in supporting women’s empowerment initiatives, global education, exchange, and training, and/or women in STEM highly encouraged.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range:$53,847 - $60,093. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
