The Communications and Events Coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing and managing all communications and event-related activities for G.A.S. Foundation under the direction of the Executive Director (G.A.S.) and Communications and Projects Manager (Yinka Shonibare Foundation) in London.
This multifaceted position involves crafting and executing comprehensive communication strategies, overseeing social media content, and coordinating end-to-end event production. The ideal candidate will have a background in communications, social media management, CRM system management, and event planning, with a particular focus on the arts and cultural sector, especially within Lagos.

Communications
Develop, write, design, and edit various communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, social media content, and website copy in line with branding and marketing guidelines.
Implements social media strategies. Create and schedule all posts, and be responsible for social media community management.
Coordinate press and media requests.
Analyse and record comms analytics and create quarterly reports.
Update and maintain website content.
Develop and manage email marketing campaigns, e.g. newsletters.
Document selected events and residencies through photography.
Manage all enquiries received via the primary G.A.S. email account
Update and maintain the G.A.S. CRM system.
Events
Coordinate and oversee end-to-end event production, and ensure events are delivered to organisational standards.
Develop production schedules and budgets in line with objectives and in collaboration with stakeholders and the team.
Coordinate all event logistics including AV, catering, transportation and equipment.
Coordinate production of all digital event assets, ensuring deliverables are received on time and on budget.
Manage event collaborator, stakeholder and contractor relationships.
Conduct post-event evaluations, maintain accurate event records.
Prepare event reports and implement improvements based on evaluation findings.
Ensure audience and visitor data is kept up to date with the use of our CRM system.
Explore new event formats and technologies to enhance engagement and participation.
Handle event-related correspondence and enquiries in a timely manner.
Other
Stay abreast of relevant contemporary art, culture, and social media trends.
Carry out all duties in accordance with the Foundation’s Handbooks and Policies.
Be prepared to work outside of normal office and for some regional travel.
Contribute to a collaborative working environment.

Requirements
2-3 years of experience in communications, social media management, event planning, or a related role.
Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, managing social media platforms, and coordinating events.
Skills, knowledge, experience and interest in the arts and cultural sector with a particular understanding of the cultural and artistic landscape of Lagos.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading, interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in creating, scheduling, and monitoring social media posts across various platforms.
Ability to develop and implement social media strategies and analyse communications metrics and analytics.
Proficiency in updating and maintaining website content, and monitoring website analytics.
Experience in developing and managing email marketing campaigns, including newsletters and promotional emails.
Graphic design skills and ability to develop and design visual content using the Adobe Suite.
Basic photography and videography skills and the ability to use an SLR camera.
Proven experience of using CRM or customer database management systems.
Proven event production and management skills.
Strong organisational, and time management and project management skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Sharepoint, and marketing software.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
