SUMMARY

Coordinates the general daily operations of Samaritan House and manages the resident life department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administration & Management:

Collaborates to implement policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure safety and optimal operations of facilities.
Prepares and administers area budget within established guidelines.
Ensures that all facilities comply with accreditation, state and federal standards and other appropriate regulatory or professional requirements.
Coordinates risk management activities, including procedural, evaluation and risk reduction efforts with insurance carriers and the archdiocesan risk management office.
Works closely and collaborates with Catholic Charities’ corporate Maintenance & Facility team.
Completes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately.
Directs safety, fire control, and security functions and systems.
Collaborates with AD of Facilities to oversee Emergency Management Plans for fire, flood, tornado, etc.
Approves orders for supplies and equipment.
Accompanies state and local officials on inspections.
Communicates and collaborates with case managers, supervisors, program staff and community partners and service providers to provide optimal support to families.

Oversees daily safety/cleanliness inspections; takes appropriate action to engage participants in meeting standards.
Notifies Facilities Manager of needed maintenance in resident rooms and throughout Samaritan House facility. Tracks resolution of maintenance requests.
Maintains necessary supplies; do regular inventory and order supplies as needed.
Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
Participates in on-call rotation.
Supports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.

Staff Supervision:

Direct supervisor of 2 resident life supervisors
Oversees a team of 18+ shelter and safety associates.

Record Keeping:

Complete timely and accurate documentation for participants including auditing shelter staff reporting.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing, and problem solving.
Participates in staff trainings and programs as required.
Good steward of Agency human, financial and capital resources
Any other tasks or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to work effectively within the framework of Catholic teachings.
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values.
Intermediate knowledge of computers to input information, maintain client and program data, create and generate reports, and create communications.
Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
Ability to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission and to lift up to 25 pounds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in related field; and five to seven years related program management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary: $60,000-$70,000/annually commensurate with experience & education.
