We are currently in search of a Membership Director for a Synagogue. The position is On-site in New York, NY. This is a full-time, permanent position.
ORGANIZATION TYPE: Synagogue
LOCATION: New York City (Upper East Side)
POSITION TITLE: Membership Director
SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week
DURATION: Permanent
SALARY RANGE: $100k-$115k
Is This Your Dream Job? The Membership Director will report directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for membership growth and retention strategies. Must be able to work on-site. Some travel within NYC may be required and must be able to work flexible hours around synagogue events and on major Jewish holidays. This position is permanent, with an anticipated salary of $100k-$115k.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· 5+ years of experience with relationship building- especially in a member-driven environment required
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Prior experience with CRM data-base management required
· Analytical and able to look at member data and draw conclusions to communicate with other staff about trends in data
· Connection to the Jewish faith preferred
How You Will Spend Your Day:
Customer service:
- Be empathetic with congregants in order to proactively and consistently contribute to an excellent member experience
- Resolve issues promptly and professionally, including urgent, sensitive, and emotional situations
- Create and implement policies and practices as it relates to membership
Member Experience:
- Manage new-member on-boarding process, including events, new member interviews, and cross-departmental outreach
- Use data from Shulcloud (CRM) to identify trends and opportunities to more deeply engage active members or re-engage inactive members
- Develop metrics in partnership with other departments to report out and track member engagement across different cohorts to support decision-making and strategy
Member data:
- Ensure that the CRM has correct, complete, and up-to-date information about all our members, so that they feel known.
· Oversee data entry processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all records
