Position Title: Portland Electric Ways to Work Program Coordinator I

Reports To: Portland Electric Ways to Work Loan Coordinator III

Location: MFS Civic Office, Gresham, OR

Dept/Program: Economic Empowerment FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)

General Description:

This position is a limited duration position and is scheduled to begin in January 2025 and will end on or before March 31, 2026. Position will offer full benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, 401K and other benefits. Benefits are available on the first of the month after completing 30 days of employment

General Function:

Under the supervision of the PEWTW Coordinator III, the Program Coordinator is responsible for providing direct support to the day-to-day operations of the Portland Electric Ways to Work program. Coordinator will be responsible for various administrative tasks, community engagement, outreach and building trusting relationships with our English and Spanish speaking participants and community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support all the activities planned by the PEWTW Program Coordinator III
Support Program lead trainings and events
Support and organize loan committee meetings/emails
Provide community outreach to the Spanish speaking population of Portland
Provide presentations to community partners about PEWTW program in collaboration with PEWTW Outreach Coordinator III
Attend Portland Electric Ways to Work team meetings and MFS PCEF Collaboration meetings
Attend regularly occurring supervision meetings with Loan Coordinator III, Program Staff, and Agency
Organize and maintain program file and documentation as required
Apply assessments when needed
Check-in with clients regularly to ensure participant success
Support Spanish speaking participants when payments are late
Monitor and respond to applicants expressing interest
Send email resource blasts to program email list
Provide interpretation and messaging to Spanish speaking participants
Maintain up-to-date data entry into the agency database, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Experience and knowledge of financial literacy education
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish is required
Ability to access and use the internet effectively
Ability to provide strength-based resource and referral services to families
Ability to conduct community outreach and public speaking to groups
Attention to detail in data entry
Experience working in collaboration with a variety of agencies and programs
Ability to work independently and to collaborate with a team
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups
Ability to maintain appropriate and professional relationships with clients and volunteers
Work effectively within a team-dependent environment

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of a BA/BS in public service, human services, or equivalent related experience
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish is required
Experience and/or knowledge of financial literacy education and ability to share this knowledge with participants

Other Requirements:

Personal transportation that allows for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. If driving a personal vehicle must maintain a valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy.

MFS requires all employees and volunteers to complete a criminal background check. We review the results of all background checks individually and consider all of the circumstances of any issues that arise in a background check during the hiring process.

Work Environment:

This position is based in person. There is some opportunity for hybrid work with supervisor approval. Work is performed in an office environment, at community events, and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand occasionally. Position requires use of computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
