What you’ll be doing
As a Chef you’re a key part of our Hospitality and Catering team! You’ll be the supporting the Lead Cook and play an important role in delivering catering service to resident groups that visit us at our Field Studies Centre.

Where you’ll be based
The Field Studies Council Blencathra centre is in a magnificent setting, with unrivalled views of the Lake District.
We welcome over 9,000 visitors each year from schools, colleges, universities, and other organisations. Our visitors come from all over the UK, and for many it is their first trip to the Lake District World Heritage Site.
We have been awarded the Soil Association’s Food for Life Served Here Bronze Award which recognises organisations which go the extra mile to make sure visitors are receiving healthy, nutritious, and sustainable meals. Who we’re looking for
You will have some previous catering experience and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, line managers and customers.
We ask that all our chefs have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. If you don’t have it yet, don’t worry – we’re happy to help you get it before you start. Just keep in mind that you'll need to successfully complete the certification, ensuring you have a good understanding of food safety, before you can begin the role
