Title: Community Navigator for the Rapid Response Network
Reports to: Rapid Response Network Manager and Program Director
Classification: Temporary, full-time (40 hours/week), on-site
Compensation: Amigos has a generous compensation philosophy that starts this position at $30/hour with eligibility for medical, dental, vision and health benefits, as well as 401k plan eligibility.

Overview of the Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara CountyAmigos de Guadalupe serves as both a partner and the fiscal agent for the Rapid Response Network (RRN) in Santa Clara County. The RRN is a coalition of six community-based organizations (CBOs) working together to serve as the county's frontline defense against deportation. We operate a hotline for community members to report ICE sightings or seek support if loved ones are detained. Additionally, we host quarterly legal clinics and provide Know Your Rights and rapid response education throughout the county.
Position SummaryThe Community Navigator for the Rapid Response Network will work closely with the RRN Manager and Lead Community Navigator to provide Know Your Rights and rapid response education to the Santa Clara County community. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, confident in delivering resources and presentations, and dedicated to immigrant rights. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required, as the majority of the community we serve are monolingual Spanish speakers.
Job Functions- Coordinate and deliver Know Your Rights and rapid response presentations in various community settings, such as schools, businesses, churches, and community centers.
- Assist in creating flyers and publicity materials for the RRN’s social media platforms to promote trainings, events, and educational resources.
- Collaborate with the RRN Manager and Lead Attorney to refine and update network-wide presentations on Know Your Rights and rapid response protocols, adapting to any relevant changes in policies or political contexts.
- Support the coordination and messaging for RRN press conferences and media interviews.
- Assist in organizing and executing quarterly legal clinics for community members.
Other Expectations- Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, supervisory meetings, and any agency-wide events
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications- AA or BA in Sociology or related fields recommended.
- Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.
- 1-2 years of experience working in community-based organizations in community organizing, community leadership development, and/or peer-to-peer service delivery models (e.g., Promotora) within working poor, immigrant communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to and belief in the Rapid Response Network mission.
- Organized, dependable, and reliable.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a teamwork orientation and the ability to motivate a wide range of people while maintaining sensitivity to cultural diversity.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Class C Driver's License required.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
Other recommended qualifications- Relevant experience with the East San Jose community or similar communities or having a background and experiences that help you understand the perspectives and lived experiences of our community.
