- Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
- Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of center budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders to support our out of school efforts.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Center Leader certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications as well as YMCA Compliance training required.
- Fulfillment of state/licensing specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Possess adequate vision and hearing to safely monitor sports programming. Ability to perform all tasks demanded from employees inclusive of but not limited to sitting and standing for long periods of time, able to work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions for extended periods of time and an ability to perform computer work for lengthy hours of operation.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, policies and procedures, correspondence, and emails. Ability to write simple correspondence, reports, and policies and procedures for program areas. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to resolve routine problems. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to be sensitive and alert to the needs, feelings, and safety of others.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is 50%-75%, primarily locally to assigned centers within business unit in the Greater Houston area during the business day. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
