Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Community Transformation arm of the Partners in Equity grant which focuses on nurturing social connectedness to equip communities with what they identify will help them to be less system reliant, strengthen relationships and increase interpersonal safety.  This role requires strategic planning, a collaborative leadership approach, and connecting with various community stakeholders to achieve project goals and ensure program success.  This role must be skilled in trauma responsive and relational practices, advocacy, facilitation and grounded in collective impact efforts as it will bridge community voice and county partners.

WORK DESIGNATION:

Remote (must work within San Diego County Region)
In person meetings 1-2 a week
- Please note that the work designation may change based on business needs

Responsibilities

Participate in agency decision-making, program planning, policy development, and administration oversight
Administrate operational aspects of ongoing projects with general supervision from leadership and collaborate with executive leadership to develop project goals and long-term plans; Track goals, compile data, complete and disseminate written and oral reports for federal, state and local funding sources, collaborators and community groups as required
Coordinate and ensure progress on departmental and/or cross-functional teams, prioritizing tasks, including creation, oversight, and implementation of project goals, and providing technical support and direction when necessary
Oversee and ensure project compliance with all federal, state, county and YMCA standards; Ensure consistent delivery of service and consistent levels of service
Develop and maintain community relationships to support project initiatives
Ensure successful execution of each stage of the project with frequent, open communication with the project team members and stakeholders
Develops, manages, and executes the strategic planning of multiple projects; Create project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained; Develop and maintain databases, sites, and project management software including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Planner
Oversees coordination of personnel and resources required to successfully complete projects; Recruit, train, manage, supervise, and motivate project teams; Provides leadership, direction, motivation, and guidance to employees working on assigned projects and initiatives
Creates functional strategies and specific objectives and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure; Manage financial tracking, reporting and invoicing for projects as necessary
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned and assist with maintaining proper document storage and auditing;
Participate in and attend all required staff meetings, trainings, YMCA staff development events, and appropriate agency-wide committees

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have access to reliable transportation to travel regularly throughout San Diego County

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Communications, Business Administration, Social Work or related field or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, ideally within a non-profit or social service organization, required
Proven experience in managing large scale projects including planning, execution, and evaluation

PRE-HIRE CONTINGENCIES:

Licensing, state law and our funders require that applicants be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, within 30 days of hire, and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute
Position may require additional clearances in order to comply with all program, licensing, state law, and funding requirements:
- Physical exam obtained prior to first day
- Negative TB test results obtained within the past one year, prior to first day, and annually thereafter, as required
- Pass pre-employment drug testing prior to first day
- Exclusion and Debarment checks prior to first day and monthly thereafter
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid CA Driver’s License, a good driving record and a current CDL H6 print-out (must be dated within 30 days of application) and pass vehicle proficiency exam
