OPPORTUNITY: The New Jersey Golf Foundation, the 501c3 charitable arm of the New Jersey PGA, is offering an opportunity to gain valuable insight into the administrative aspect of the golf business by hiring an individual from a diverse background to work on our team for a 6-month term. The New Jersey Golf Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and charitable arm of The New Jersey Section, PGA of America, one of 41 Sections across the country dedicated to growing the game of golf, serving the PGA Member, and elevating the standards of the PGA Professional. The mission of the NJGF is to positively impact lives and communities through the game of golf. We accomplish this daily thanks to the more than 450 dedicated PGA Professionals that make up the NJPGA. Our Section staff is comprised of dedicated, passionate people who care deeply about serving our Professionals, community, and the game and business of golf.
JOB TITLE: PGA WORKS Fellow
MANAGER’S TITLE: Executive Director, New Jersey Golf Foundation Inc.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The individual in this position will assist the New Jersey Golf Foundation and New Jersey PGA staff in a wide range of programming and tournament operations. Examples of programming are listed below but the PGA WORKS Fellow will be heavily engaged in the operation and programs at Inspiration Golf Range & Activity Center, Junior Golf Operations and Section Professional Tournaments & Championships.
NJ Golf Foundation Program examples include:
● YOUTH | PGA Jr. League – PGA Jr. League (PGAJL) is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. The kids learn the game among their peers with professional instruction and direction from PGA/LPGA Professionals who serve as team captains. Parents also play an active role, making the program a family activity and creating another generation of players to enjoy the game.
● MILITARY | PGA HOPE & HEROES TOUR Program Support – PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. The NJGF, Lyons VA and the Township of Bernards entered a 10-year partnership that began in June 2021. The NJGF is now managing and operating the driving range, and the facility is home to our flagship PGA HOPE program. The PGA Work Fellow will spend time at Inspiration Golf helping with the daily operation and the coordination of PGA HOPE and other NJGF clinics, camps and programs. Another focus of the Military Pillar is the administration of the HEROES TOUR, a competitive golf tour specifically for Veterans and First Responders. Duties would include assisting in the on-site administration of HEROES TOUR events throughout the Section.
● SPECIAL NEEDS | Special Olympics New Jersey, Els for Autism & World of Work – For more than 25 years, NJPGA Professionals have introduced individuals with special needs to the game and prepared competitive athletes for local, regional, and national competitions. There is a focus on individuals with ASD and introducing them to the game of golf through clinics.
JOB DUTIES: PGA WORKS Fellowship duties include but are not limited to:
● Assisting the New Jersey Golf Foundation with all aspects of programming including communications, member recruitment, promotions, scheduling, and event execution.
● Assist with PGA HOPE programming and operations including communications with PGA Professionals and military services centers, tracking and reporting, veteran volunteer program, marketing/PR & working side-by-side with our New Jersey PGA HOPE Ambassadors, Chris Solivan, Garret Hrynko & Charlie Wilcox
● Assist with all NJGF fundraisers throughout the year.
● Assist with the setup, execution, and management of all NJPGA Drive Chip & Putt Qualifiers.
● Assist with Junior Golf Tournaments & Operations
● Assist the Director; Marketing & Communications with marketing, communications and PR including: website updates, social media, creative marketing, and email communications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
● Undergraduate or Graduate Degree
● Valid Driver’s License Required
● Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required
● Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
● Skills in social media marketing and communications
● Well organized, punctual & energetic
● Ability to work in a team environment
● Ability to work weekends
● Ability to be flexible

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Hourly pay - equivalent to $3,125 per month ($18,750 for the 6-month term). The NJPGA will provide staff uniforms and will cover event/competition related travel expenditures (hotel, meals, etc.) while on assignment. One-week paid vacation, holiday vacations and sick leave are also provided.
2026 PGA SHOW: All expenses will be covered by the Section to attend the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando, FL in January 2026 upon completion of their Fellowship. The PGA Show, organized by Reed Exhibitions (RX) and the PGA of America, is the longest running and largest global gathering for the business of golf. PGA of America Golf Professionals and industry leaders form a dynamic international community to source and test the game’s latest innovations, learn proven business solutions from industry experts and develop skills and connections to further
their career.
