EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, including psychology, social work or sociology with two years’ experience working with seriously disturbed/at-risk children, adolescents, and their families. Experience engaging parents as partners and demonstrated ability to successfully work with families from diverse ethnic and cultural groups. Experience in crisis management a must.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various computer software. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. Ability to effectively conduct meetings and motivate others to work collaboratively, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, planning, person relationship. Facilitation and service management skills.
Language skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, budgets, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Supervisory skills: Ability to effectively supervise and motivate others to perform. Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ability to interview and hire well-suited candidates and to provide/oversee discipline as needed. Ability to address complaints and resolve problems.
