Your Role:
-
Lead engineering design for energy-related projects, with a strong
emphasis on renewable energy, particularly solar in utility-scale and
distribution generation projects.

Guide the site plan and zoning approval processes for renewable
projects at the municipal level.

Oversee the erosion and sediment control plan approval process
through county and state regulatory bodies.
-
Apply expertise in surface water quality, stormwater quality, and
stormwater management in both construction and post-construction
settings.

Conduct hydrology and hydraulic analysis in compliance with
applicable rules and regulations.
-
Plan, design, construct, and maintain stormwater infrastructure
and Best Management Practices (BMPs), including low impact development
and green infrastructure projects.

Utilize civil and environmental engineering principles in grading,
site layout, wetland impacts, traffic, utilities, and more.

Work with industry-standard software such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD,
AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, BlueBeam, etc.

Navigate local, state, and federal water resources regulatory
processes.

Mentor junior and mid-level staff while managing multiple tasks
and working effectively with project managers.

Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation,
and industry standards.

Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high
degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and
safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
-
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or a related field.
-
10-25 years of experience in engineering design, particularly in
energy-related projects.
- Professional Engineering License preferred.

Proven experience with renewable energy projects, including
leading approval processes for site plans, zoning, and erosion and
sediment control.

In-depth understanding of civil and environmental engineering
principles and regulatory processes.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word,
Project) and other relevant software tools.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and mentoring skills.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
setting.

Experience working in VA and neighboring states is preferred.
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
without restrictions.
