Position Details:
The Senior Psychologist (who will also play a role as the Director, Trauma & Resilience Center), will ensure the service delivers evidence-based care for patients, support and guidance for the communities affected by traumatic events, and training for early career clinicians. This management includes oversight of the clinical service offerings, managing patient referrals, and supervising an accomplished group of clinicians.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clinical caseload, conducting clinical interventions and evaluations.
Reporting to Clinical Director, this is an exempt, full-time hybrid (minimum of 4 days in office) position located in our Midtown, New York office.
You Will:
- Provide evidence-based intervention that integrates the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture, and preferences, including empirically supported treatments when available (e.g., TF-CBT, DBT, PCIT).
- Conduct family-based interventions with parents and other family members, and collateral contacts with educators and other providers.
- Collaborate with our clinical colleagues, including receiving and providing consultation, to support team-based care within our practice.
- Provide training or clinical supervision to trainees, including psychologists, social workers and licensed mental health counselors.
- Lead all clinical and operational aspects of the Trauma and Resilience Service; regularly evaluate offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our patients and are aligned with latest treatment research.
- Develop and implement strategic goals to improve service quality, expand program reach, and enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensure high quality clinical care across the service; measure and report on clinical outcomes.
- Manage the service budget to ensure minimum margin requirements are met.
- Create emergency response teams designed to respond when external organizations are managing a traumatic event and need guidance and support.
You Have:
- Must have current, valid, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the State of New York
- Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience in mental health.
- Training in specific evidence-based interventions as noted above.
- Passion for and commitment to advancing the mission of the Child Mind Institute.

Pay Range
The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
