Our Food Services program is ready to hire a Food Services Assistant Manager to join the team.

We seek professional, compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals committed to providing quality meals to the children in our care and outstanding customer service.

In this role, you will oversee and manage quality menu planning, shopping, ordering, cooking, and food delivery, ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen appliances, delivery vehicles, and food storage areas, ensure compliance with all Maricopa County Health Department, State Licensing, and Head Start sanitation requirements, and be an integral member of the management team.

Qualifications

To be considered, you must have: 

  • An AA or BA in nutrition, food industry management, hospitality management, culinary arts, food science, or related field. Or an AA or BA in an unrelated field with applicable food service management experience.
  • Must have current Food Manager Certification or be willing to obtain it within the first 10 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • A valid Arizona Driver’s License and a clean five-year motor vehicle history
  • A Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to obtain one before the initial employment start date
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Display good written and verbal communication skills

 

You are a star candidate if you have the above and:

  • Management experience in a kitchen serving children
  • Experience with the National School Lunch Program or Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • Previous experience in food preparation for large groups and in a fast-paced environment
