About the Role:
Do you have experience working with children (school, playground, or after-school, etc.)? As an Adaptive Sports Assistant Instructor at Asphalt Green, you will play a key role in supporting lead instructors in delivering inclusive and engaging adaptive sports classes for neurodivergent and developmentally disabled youth. This part-time position, offering $25 per hour, is based in Manhattan, with classes held on weekends at our Upper East Side (555 East 90th street) and Battery Park City (212 North End Ave) locations. Your role will involve assisting with activities in various programs, including Playground Pathways, Martial Arts, Soccer, Swim and Gym, and Yoga.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist lead instructors in delivering adaptive class activities for programs such as Playground Pathways, Martial Arts, Soccer, Swim and Gym, and Yoga.

Support children in engaging with class activities, adapting to their individual needs, and ensuring a positive, inclusive experience.

Set up and clean up equipment and materials for each class.

Collaborate with lead instructors and staff to ensure smooth class operations and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Experience working with children, especially those with diverse abilities, in recreational or educational settings.

Background in supporting inclusive or adaptive activities.

Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in adaptive physical education, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
