The Day Camp Cleaner maintains a clean and safe environment by ensuring the hygiene of all facilities, including washrooms, classrooms, and common areas. This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to high cleanliness standards in a dynamic camp setting.
In this role, you will:
- Clean all classrooms, corridors, gymnasiums, programming, and staff areas by wiping surfaces, dusting, vacuuming carpets and upholstery, and sweeping and mopping floors. Remove and dispose of all garbage
- Clean all washrooms, including sinks, toilets, countertops, mirrors, and floors. Restock all toiletries and paper products. Remove and dispose of all garbage
- Report and store lost and found items
- Perform other duties as assigned
You bring:
- Experience working in an industrial/commercial cleaning environment, including using cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Knowledge of WHMIS
- Physical ability to conduct light to heavy-duty cleaning, including lifting
- Excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in working with reduced supervision and as a member of a team to prioritize and complete tasks
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging
