We are currently in search of a Controller for a Global Social Impact Nonprofit. The position is Arlington, VA. This is a full-time, permanent position.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Global Social Impact Nonprofit

LOCATION: Arlington, VA

POSITION TITLE: Controller

SCHEDULE: Full Time

DURATION: Permanent

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $125,000

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will oversee the Regional Finance Managers/Directors, Oremus Finance/Accounting Support Team, and all accountants and analysts. The Controller will oversee accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration, ensuring the Organization has the necessary systems and procedures to support effective program implementation and maintain clean audits.

 

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 4+ years senior level accounting and supervisory experience required
  • CPA required
  • International Controller experience required
  • Nonprofit experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP required
  • Experience in ERP platform (NetSuite preferred)
  • Strong desire and ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment required

 

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate all audit activity.
  • Analyze financial data, present timely reports, and communicate financial status to senior leadership.
  • Manage payroll.
  • Support the CFO in engaging with the board.
  • Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting, ensuring expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage implementation of finance policies, procedures and administrative systems.
  • Leverage the strengths of the finance team, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and develop training programs to maximize individual and organizational goals.
  • Strengthen internal communications, foster a positive work environment, and provide coaching to staff while collaborating on solutions to challenges.
