Community Support Specialist

Community Support Specialist – Make an Impact Every Day!

Are you passionate about helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives? BHcare is looking for a Community Support Specialist to provide essential support to individuals working toward personal growth, stability, and independence.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, except for one evening per week (Tues, Wed, or Thurs: 11 AM – 7 PM).

What You’ll Do:

  •  Provide individual and group support to help clients achieve their goals
  •  Assist with life skills development, employment, education, and community involvement
  •  Conduct assessments and develop personalized recovery plans
  •  Offer crisis intervention and outreach as needed
  •  Help clients connect with healthcare and support systems
  •  Maintain accurate clinical records and progress notes


What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternative qualifications accepted (see below)
  • Behavioral Health Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years (depending on education level)
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and electronic health records
  • Reliable Transportation: Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree or College coursework equivalent (2 years) and 2 years work exp in behavioral health field OR high school diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience in the behavioral health field required.  
  • RSS certification, mental health certification or related and acceptable training preferred.  Ability to complete training as may be required for position and program assigned.
  • Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation is desirable.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.  Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • RSS certification preferred
