Job Summary:
The Chief
Operations Officer (COO) of a non-profit organization is responsible for
overseeing and optimizing the operational efficiency of the organization across
India. The role ensures effective execution of strategic initiatives, programs
implementation, financial management, compliance, and overall organizational
growth. The COO collaborates closely with the CEO, board members, and
department heads to drive the mission and impact of the organization while
ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Leadership
- Develop
and implement operational strategies to support the organization’s mission
and long-term goals.
- Oversee
daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring efficiency and
alignment with strategic objectives.
- Work
closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop policies and
strategic plans.
- Monitor
and evaluate key performance metrics to measure organizational success.
2. Program & Service Delivery
- Ensure required administrative support for effective implementation and scaling of programs across different regions
- Identify
operational challenges and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and
effectiveness.
3. Financial & Compliance Management
- Ensure
compliance with financial regulations, legal requirements, and donor
policies for audit purpose
- Optimize
resource allocation and operational cost efficiency.
- Ensure adherence
to all regulatory requirements, governance policies, and ethical
guidelines.
- Identify
and mitigate risks related to operations, finance, and program
implementation.
- Maintain
transparency in operations and work closely with internal and external
stakeholders.
4. Human Resources & Team Leadership
- Lead,
mentor, and manage regional heads to support and
collaborate.
- Oversee
HR policies, recruitment, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
- Promote
a positive work culture, capacity building, and leadership development
within the team.
Requirements
Qualifications
& Experience:
- Master’s degree in Business
Administration, Non-Profit Management, Social Work, Public Administration,
or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in
operations, program management and leadership roles preferably in the
non-profit sector.
- Experience managing large teams
(100+ employees) across multiple locations.
- Strong financial acumen,
including budgeting, compliance.
- Proven ability to drive
efficiency and effectiveness in non-profit operations.
