The Foundations and Corporate Relations Officer is a 4-day, 32-hour per week position responsible for the research, identification and creation of funding proposals to current and prospective corporate and foundation partners. Additionally, they manage a portfolio of roughly 40 corporate and foundation funders, cultivating and stewarding strong relationships and partnerships. They are also responsible, with the Director of Institutional Philanthropy, for informing the overall grant strategy for their portfolio and for tracking and reporting on current and prospective funder status. This position works in close partnership with the Director of Institutional Philanthropy and a second Foundations and Corporate Relations Officer.
Expectations of your role:
- Grant Writing
- Works with the Director of Institutional Philanthropy to develop annual corporate and foundation grant funding goals and priorities pertaining to their assigned portfolio, corresponding strategy, and leads efforts to achieve those goals.
- Manages portfolio of roughly 40 corporate and foundation funders; cultivates and stewards strong relationships, partnerships and investment in addition to requesting funding and support.
- Analyzes and formulates grant request strategies for specific funders, tying those strategies to organizational and programmatic priorities, budget and revenue information and goals.
- Conducts ongoing prospect research, identifying new funding sources.
- In collaboration with programs and Director of Institutional Philanthropy, determines best program fit for grant funding opportunities and prioritizes grant proposals according to development and YWCA philanthropy goals.
- Initiates, cultivates and manages relationships with new and current corporate and foundation grant makers and coordinates site visits.
- Partners with Director of Institutional Philanthropy to develop acknowledgement procedures and recognition opportunities for corporate and foundation grant makers.
- Develops and maintains fluid master calendar for corporate and foundation grant activity in assigned portfolio, to include proposal deadlines and reports schedule.
- Manages tracking of grant requests, grant reports and funder communication in Salesforce donor database and maintains current records.
- Coordinates with program and administrative staff, and Director of Institutional Philanthropy as it relates to grant writing related content, including program narratives, reports and program budgets.
- Meets with team members and program staff to generate funding ideas and review projects and programs requiring philanthropic support.
- Works closely with staff to ensure a solid understanding of the organization, initiatives, programs and activities.
- Assists with generating thank you acknowledgement letters to foundation and corporate funders.
SponsorshipsWorks closely with development team colleagues to support corporate sponsorship asks for YWCA fundraising events, with particular focus on the annual Inspire Luncheon.
OtherPerform all other duties as assigned.Work collaboratively as a member of the development team, within the larger advancement team, helping to create a comprehensive stewardship calendar for optimal donor cultivation of all YWCA donors.Work collaboratively as a member of the development team with a focus on advancing the mission of the YWCA.Occasional night and weekend work may be required.Show demonstrated ability to interact with people of different cultures.Continuing search for understanding of racial, gender and class equity.Adhere to all volunteer services protocol relative to volunteer usage, recognition and monitoring.
