Hispanic Federation (HF) is the nation's premier Latino nonprofit membership organization. Founded in 1990, HF supports Latino families and strengthens Latino institutions through grantmaking, capacity building assistance to Latino nonprofits, advocacy, disaster relief, and direct services. It serves 133 member organizations and a national network of 700 Latino nonprofits in 42 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
Hispanic Federation seeks a Director for Policy and Social Impact to advance HF’s New York State policy priorities and campaigns, carry out public policy analysis and prepare issue briefs and other materials to support the organization’s advocacy efforts – especially Albany-based efforts - and manage tracking and compliance for all HF's lobbying activities. The director will focus on Education public policy and focus on the impacts of education in communities of color. The director will work with staff in multiple offices . The director must have both direct public policy and advocacy experience and will be trained in regard to both federal and New York State lobbying rules and reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will have the ability to prepare concise and effective public policy and advocacy materials, sound oral communications skills, and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with public officials and other advocates. The director must be well organized, results oriented, and effective at multi-tasking. The position provides an excellent opportunity for gaining broad experience in public policy and advocacy work for a highly respected, growing Latino organization.
