- Minimum age of 18 years of age
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience required:
- One year coaching experience required
- Two years’ experience competitive swimming required
- Current CPR PRO/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification and must be from one of the following certifying organization: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute
- Current First Aid certification and must be from one of the following certifying organization: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute
- Must have one of the following:
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches Online Content Only certification & Safety Training for Swim Coaches In Water Session certification OR
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches (final certification if an ARC certification trainer upload requirement it for a final version) OR
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches Online Content Only certification & valid Lifeguard certification
- Principles of Competitive Swimming & Diving within 30 days
- American Safety & Health Institute
- Desirable Certifications
- YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification (will be required if supervising off-site events)
- YMCA or WSI Swim Lesson certification
- Safety training for Swim Coaches
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSL) Certification
- Familiarity with Meet Manager and Team Manager software
