Project Director
Safal Partners is seeking a highly skilled Project Director to lead management of a federal grantee advisory contract. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of deep practitioner expertise in community-based injury prevention, robust public health program evaluation experience, and exceptional project management skills. The Project Director will guide internal teams, collaborate with external stakeholders, and ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and cultural relevance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead overall program governance, ensuring compliance with project guidelines and RFP requirements
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team of technical advisors, evaluators, and administrative staff
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the client’s web-based resource platform for document sharing, reporting templates, and recorded sessions
- Coordinate and facilitate semiannual conference calls with grantees
- Plan, develop, and deliver webinars on evidence-based injury prevention strategies, program planning, and evaluation methods
- Update relevant agency and program office materials to reflect program updates, ensuring 508 compliance and agency standards
- Design and monitor corrective action plans for grantees experiencing challenges, in partnership with federal project officers
- Lead planning and execution of an annual grantee convening, including agenda development, facilitation, note-taking, and follow-up action items
- Supervise the creation and completion of biannual and annual evaluation reports, including data collection templates, summary analyses, and cumulative implementation summaries
- Maintain monthly consultation calls with program office staff to review progress, barriers, and solutions
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to acceptance criteria: accuracy, clarity, consistency, timeliness, and editability
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in community-based injury prevention and/or field-based public health practice
- Master of Public Health degree or higher, or Master of Science degree in a closely related field (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Health)
- Demonstrated expertise in applying public health principles, evidence-based injury prevention theories, program evaluation, and interventions
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-site federal cooperative agreements or grants with substantial agency involvement
- Experience partnering with American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing and sustaining online resource platforms or learning management systems
- Familiarity with federal Section 508 accessibility standards and image guidelines
- Skilled in workshop design and adult learning methodologies
- Data-driven mindset with advanced skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to travel for site visits (up to 20% annually) and attend off-site workshops and conferences
- Experience authoring federal-style reports, policy briefs, and technical guidance documents
Job Type: Full-time, contingent upon contract award
Location: Remote, must be authorized to work in the United States and able to secure a public trust clearance if required.
