Position Requirements:
- Fluent in English and Spanish (native Spanish speaker preferred)
- Can work at least 29 hours/wk. Full time preferred
- Capacity to establish positive relationships with youth, community members, and community partners
- Comfort and experience interacting with, instructing and speaking with diverse communities of all ages
- Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Superior professional verbal and written communications skills
- Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
- Willingness to work evenings
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Reimbursement for some required travel
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Involvement in Santa Maria community
- Outreach and social marketing experience
- Desire for a career in environmental education, solar, or community outreach
- Foundational knowledge of renewable energy
- Interest in and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, green jobs and/or helping families and communities in need
Office Location
Work will be focused in select areas of Santa Maria. Work in other cities of the central coast will be required. Our office is located in Atascadero. Some travel to the office in Atascadero may be required. Travel and Work Schedule This position may require some work on nights and weekends. GRID Alternatives provides travel reimbursement, though applicant must hold a valid driver license and possess a reliable vehicle.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position, compensation commensurate with experience
