He wāhi hou mō Te Kōruru o Literacy Aotearoa
E ngā mana, e ngā reo, e ngā karangatanga maha, tēnā koutou katoa.
Literacy Aotearoa is seeking expressions of interest for a Tauiwi trustee to join our high-performing Board, Te Kōruru, and help guide a bold new era of strategic growth and transformation. We are a passionate, values-led organisation dedicated to empowering the people of Aotearoa to realise their full potential through high-quality, accessible, literacy education.
Our 2025-2027 strategy sets an ambitious target: to positively impact and reach the lives of 48,000 people across Aotearoa.
We seek an experienced governance professional with a commitment to equity, digital innovation and partner-based leadership to support us across our five strategic pillars:
● Our People: Support a vision-led, high-trust culture anchored in transparency and equity.
● Technology: Guide the development of digital infrastructure that promotes inclusion, innovation, and strategic growth.
● Pedagogy: Champion a dual-world, learner and community-driven education approach.
● Partnerships: strengthen strategic relationships to extend our impact and reach.
● Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Equity: Uphold our obligations as a Tiriti partner, ensuring that equity and Maori-Crown relationships are embedded in every aspect of our work.
This Tauiwi trustee role is part of our ongoing commitment to bicultural governance and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will bring critical insight into how non-Māori governance partners can support and uphold the mana Motuhake of Māori.
We are looking for someone who is: –
1. An experienced board of governance professional
2. Values-aligned and committed to social justice and community transformation
3. Confident in working in Te Tiriti-based environments or eager to learn and grow in this space
4. Experience in the tertiary education sector or with private training establishments (PTEs)
If you can answer yes to the above, then we invite you to apply.
