PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the identification, solicitation, and cultivation of foundation, government, and corporate grant funders;
Researches, writes, reviews, and submits proposals and grant applications to support HFH of Columbus’s programs;
Tracks and completes grant renewals;
Strategizes funding proposals, grant amounts, and fundraising with leadership;
Educates team members on the conditions of grants;
Works and supports HFH of Columbus’s Development team to achieve revenue goals to support the organization’s current and future initiatives;
Builds meaningful relationships with funders through ongoing communication and reporting;
Communicates funding designations and restrictions as needed;
Communicates grant compliance requirements;
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a positive public image, funding goals, and improve organization function.
SUPPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with donor strategy;
Maintains awareness of other affordable housing efforts in the community and how HFH of Columbus might align;
Provides grant writing support, as needed, for HFH of Columbus’s government grants;
Aids in the preparation of grant budgets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Bachelor’s degree with a major in English, Writing, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience in grants and contract administration;
3+ years of experience in grant writing and foundation relations;
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under and manage multiple deadlines concurrently;
Demonstrated writing and editing skills;
Proficient and a high level of comfort with digital programs and tools;
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
Ability to work independently or cooperatively in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms and perform other similar actions during the workday.
