GRID Alternatives is seeking an experienced solar crew foreman, superintendent and/or electrician to serve as our Bay Area Construction Manager and lead a team of solar installers, designers and project managers in our Oakland, California office.
Position Responsibilities:

Lead/oversee all aspects of Bay Area Construction Department

Manage team of construction staff, working with an Assistant Construction Manager

Assist in creating weekly and monthly installation schedules

Run regular construction meetings

Lead residential and commercial scale solar installations

Manage flow of projects to maintain a long pipeline of install-ready projects

Train volunteers in solar electric installation and coach staff on these skills

Provide coaching, technical training and performance reviews for staff

Troubleshoot technical issues and review PV system designs when necessary

Working with staff, conduct and manage site visits, inspections, and permit runs

Working with staff, put together permit packages, utility interconnection agreements, and assist with rebate paperwork

Provide leadership by clearly communicating GRID’s mission, goals, and values

Ensure that all solar systems meet GRID safety and quality standards

Oversee warehouse organization, equipment purchasing and paperwork

Work collaboratively with other GRID teams to meet installation, service call, program and funding-related goals in a timely manner

Job involves both in-office as well as in-field time
