POSITION TITLE: Laboratory Manager & Technologist - Per diem
LOCATION: Barre, VT
HOURS: Per Diem, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by AFT union in VT
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for all aspects of the operation of an in-house high complexity laboratory in accordance with laboratory protocols. Utilizes lab information system to enter patient data, prepares specimens, performs tests using automated or semi-automated equipment, interprets, correlates, and reports results to PPNNE clinical staff, interacts with staff and patients as needed utilizing EHR and telephony technology, tracks usage of and orders lab supplies, coordinates operating hours with supervisor and clinic staff, maintains test equipment, performs quality control, proficiency testing and ensures lab cleanliness. Develops and maintains test procedure manual. Builds laboratory information system and manages updates/new upgrades.
