Job Summary:
The Arc Mercer is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Benefits & Financial Services Coordinator to manage Social Security and other benefit funds for individuals we support. This role ensures that funds are used for current needs, bills are paid on time, and accurate records are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor individual beneficiary accounts.
- Ensure timely payment of rent, utilities, and other living expenses.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare required reports.
- Communicate with beneficiaries, guardians, families, and program staff regarding financial matters.
- Work with the department to monitor rent obligations and HUD property requirements.
- Serve as a financial liaison to the individuals served and their families.
- Ensure compliance with SSA regulations and agency policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience in bookkeeping, finance, or social services strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
