SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of Community Outreach for CMS Connecting Kids to Coverage (CKC). The Bilingual CKC Outreach Specialist will focus on activities in health promotion and raise awareness for AR Medicaid and CHIP health care coverage for families and communities. Will work collaboratively with schools, Head Start Programs, local health units, and Hometown Health Coalitions to provide information on AR Medicaid and CHIP year-round enrollment, renewal, and application assistance. Responsible for reaching the Hispanic and Marshallese population by collaborating with organizations providing services to this population. This includes Hispanic and Marshallese community groups, organizations, missions, charitable clinics, and others as appropriate. Communicate with AFMC outreach staff and beneficiaries ensuring timely provision of services and appropriate follow up. Document services rendered and reporting as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain knowledge of CMS Connecting Kids to Coverage outreach in all other areas of AFMC to assist as needed with overall outreach.
2. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of specialty area, pertinent organizations, and AR Medicaid and CHIP eligibility requirements and services. Knowledge should include information regarding contract deliverables, policies and procedures, resources available, current research and reports, trends, etc.
3. Communicate effectively with customers and/or recipients. (English/Spanish/Marshallese) Develop and maintain working relationships as necessary to meet contract deliverables of specialty area project.
4. Understand and utilize project-tracking database to document and monitor services/activities provided and to compile a comprehensive database of activity. Maintain accurate statistical data to meet contractual and other reporting requirements.
5. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program progress and performance.
6. Coordinate the timely collection and data entry of all required documentation.
7. Monitor specific items within the area of focus, provide recommendations/ feedback to the project director.
8. Assist in interviewing/testing for bilingual fluency and proficiency.
9. Provide communication, education, and promotion of program services through outreach visits, emails, phone calls as well as exhibiting at approved conferences.
10. Translate as needed for development of outreach and marketing materials, social media campaigns, phone calls, etc.
11. Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, considering usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.
12. Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.
13. Adhere to AFMC Quality Standards of Excellence.
14. Ensure compliance with AFMC policy, contractual obligations, state and federal laws and regulations and compliance documentation.
15. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.
16. Additional duties as assigned.
