Opportunity Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer Contractor to join our team and contribute to the development and optimization of our backend systems. You will work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and Director of Engineering to build scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and services.

Job Description/Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly capable Backend Engineer Contractor to support our engineering team in building and maintaining robust backend systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can deliver high-quality code with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.

Optimize application performance and scalability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Ensure security and data protection best practices are followed.

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Troubleshoot and debug production issues.

Core Competencies:

Proven experience as a backend engineer or similar role.

Proficiency in C#, .NET, JavaScript, NodeJS, Dynamics 365.

Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and databases (SQL and NoSQL).

Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Azure (preferred), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in successfully working with a diverse group of constituents utilizing multi-cultural intelligence, intentional listening, appreciation, and respect to engage with a diverse group of constituents.

Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills that is experienced in engaging with diverse audiences.

The ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse, perpetually changing environment, while maintaining a calm and positive spirit.

Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

The capability of handling ambiguity and driving the work autonomously.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with SharePoint, Asana, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
