Job Purpose:
MA’AN Development Center is seeking a qualified and dynamic Project
Manager to lead the implementation of the project ‘Growing Sustainable
Practices in Schools’, implemented in collaboration with Enabel and funded by
the Government of Belgium under the Green West Bank Project.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management
and coordination of all project activities to ensure timely, efficient, and
high-quality implementation in line with MA’AN and Enabel standards. The
position involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the
Environmental Quality Authority (EQA), local municipalities, and school
management teams to promote environmental sustainability, climate awareness,
and green practices across targeted schools.
Key Responsibilities:
·Ensure
successful implementation of all project activities according to approved work
plans, budgets, and timelines.
·Oversee and
coordinate the work of field coordinators and technical staff across all
governorates.
·Manage
project planning, budgeting, procurement, and compliance with donor regulations
and MA’AN policies.
·Conduct
regular field visits to monitor progress, supervise activities, and ensure
quality and accountability standards are met.
·Facilitate
coordination and communication with Enabel, MoE, EQA, and other key
stakeholders.
·Lead
project reporting, documentation, and visibility efforts, ensuring accurate and
timely submission of deliverables.
·Supervise
and support training activities, environmental clubs, greenhouse construction,
composting initiatives, and school greening campaigns.
·Collaborate
with the MEAL unit to track project performance and report on progress and
outcomes.
·Identify
and mitigate risks while ensuring adherence to child protection, gender
equality, and environmental safeguards.
·Provide
technical oversight and supervision of suppliers, contractors, and service
providers.
·Arrange and
report on meetings, stakeholder engagements, and field visits.
·Collaborate
with staff and partners to ensure inclusive, gender-responsive results.
·Analyze
data and contribute to outcome measurement and evaluation reports.
·Review and
prepare submissions, financial and narrative reports for MA’AN and donors.
·Support
institutional learning by documenting best practices and lessons learned.
·Uphold
MA’AN’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, and accountability standards.
·Effectively
manage high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s
degree with at least five years of experience, or a Master’s degree with
three years of experience in Environmental Management, Agricultural
Engineering /Agronomy, Education, Development Studies, or other related
fields.
- Experience:
oProven experience managing donor-funded development
projects, preferably in environmental education, climate change, or
community-based interventions.
oStrong skills in project planning, team
supervision, monitoring, and reporting.
oDemonstrated experience working with government
institutions, particularly the Ministry of Education or environmental
authorities.
oExperience in budget management, procurement, and
compliance with donor regulations.
oValid driver’s license and ability to travel
frequently across the West Bank.

both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
