Job Purpose:
MA’AN Development Center is seeking a qualified and committed Project
Coordinator to support the implementation of the project ‘Growing
Sustainable Practices in Schools’, implemented in collaboration with Enabel and
funded by the Government of Belgium under the Green West Bank Project.
The Project Coordinator (South) will oversee and facilitate all
project activities in Hebron and Bethlehem governorates. The position
requires close coordination with schools, local authorities, and community
stakeholders to ensure effective and high-quality implementation of
environmental education and sustainability activities.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of
all project activities to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality
implementation in line with MA’AN and Enabel standards. The position involves
close collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Environmental
Quality Authority (EQA), local municipalities, and school management teams to
promote environmental sustainability, climate awareness, and green practices
across targeted schools.
Key Responsibilities:
·Coordinate and oversee project activities in assigned schools and
communities within Hebron and Bethlehem.
·Support the establishment and operation of environmental clubs and
student-led green initiatives.
·Facilitate training sessions for teachers and students on environmental
and climate topics.
·Supervise the construction and setup of school greenhouses and
composting units.
·Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, collect data, and
ensure accountability and quality.
·Coordinate with school management, municipalities, and local partners
to ensure successful implementation.
·Promote gender equality, inclusion, and youth participation across all
project components.
·Collaborate with the Project Manager and MEAL team to monitor
indicators, document lessons learned, and report on outcomes.
·Prepare and submit timely weekly and monthly field reports.
·Represent MA’AN at the local level and ensure clear communication with
all stakeholders.
·Uphold MA’AN’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, and
accountability standards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
oBachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Agricultural
Engineering /Agronomy, Education, or a related field.
oMinimum 3 years of relevant
experience in coordinating development, environmental, or education projects.
oProven ability to manage field activities and coordinate with
multiple stakeholders.
oExperience working with schools, youth groups, or local
communities.
oFamiliarity with donor-funded project implementation and
compliance.
oValid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently across
the southern region.

oGood command of Arabic and English (spoken and written).
oProficient in Microsoft Office applications.
