Summary:
The Group Facilitator recruits and selects participants for designated groups. They are also responsible for the promotion and delivery of established programs by planning and conducting group sessions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Supervisor the Group Facilitator will:
- Conduct group sessions such as workshops and courses to support skill acquisition and build on current skills in the areas of basic communication, anger management, stress management, parenting, self esteem and other related topics.
- Recruits and selects participants for the program based on their skills and needs.
- Plans group sessions in accordance with the program manual or guidelines and the participant’s skills and needs. Prepares for group sessions by reviewing program manuals and other related materials.
- Promotes the program by performing duties such as distributing brochures and posters to the community and making presentations to community organizations.
- Ensures that the necessary facilities, equipment and materials are available for the sessions.
- Conducts evaluation and obtains client feedback on group effectiveness, material presented and facilitation style. Reports any difficulties to the Supervisor.
- Maintains contact with clients between sessions to provide follow-up support if necessary, such as reviewing course materials and client’s needs.
- Maintains related records and reports in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of community resources to provide program-related information to clients.
- Participates in and supports agency activities, vision, mission and values.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary courses and/or certificates, training in the particular group to be facilitated and knowledge of community resources.
- The Group Facilitator will have experience in planning and leading the group program to be facilitated.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Have knowledge and competence in using group facilitation theory and practice.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Work well independently and within a team.
- Have organizational skills, including time management, documentation and reporting skills.
- Be creative, patient, empathetic and flexible.

Hours: 8 hours per week
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: March 31, 2026
