Our client, ABEXUS LLC, is looking for a Jr. Business Analyst.
Business Intelligence & Strategy
Work Model: In-Office/Hybrid. This role is primarily based on-site in San Juan, with hybrid flexibility available at the discretion of the executive team, subject to prior agreement.
Job Overview
As a junior business analyst at ABEXUS Analytics, you'll be at the forefront of supporting data-driven decisions. This role is perfect for early-to-mid-career professionals who are passionate about AI, analytics, and data automation. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with our business intelligence and strategy teams, analyze performance, assist in forecasting models, and build visual dashboards.
The ideal candidate is data-literate, business-minded, and possesses strong writing skills, and is eager to develop into a strategic contributor.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Trend Analysis
- Assist in analyzing financial statements, performance metrics, and cost trends.
- Support the development and maintenance of economic and financial forecasting models, scenario planning tools, and performance optimization analysis.
Data Preparation & Reporting
- Collect, clean, and validate internal and external data sets.
- Create dashboards and visualizations using Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
Insight Generation & Communication
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns and risks.
- Translate findings into presentations and summary reports for stakeholders.
- The candidate should possess strong writing skills to create compelling narratives, insights, and tailor findings for both internal and external stakeholders.
Business Strategy Support
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven input for business initiatives. Assist in process documentation, reporting automation, and budgeting efforts.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify repetitive tasks that can be automated or optimized for efficiency.
- Explore AI-enhanced tools to improve efficiency in analysis and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business analytics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, business intelligence, or business consulting.
- Strong Excel and foundational SQL skills.
- Experience with Python, R, or any scripting for data tasks.
- Willingness to work primarily in-office in San Juan, with hybrid arrangements considered when approved by the executive team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical, and abstract thinking skills with keen attention to detail.
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, skilled at conveying complex ideas clearly in both written and verbal communication.
Preferred
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization platforms.
- Familiarity with budgeting software or ERP systems.
- Exposure to AI tools for forecasting, data prep, or reporting automation.
- Basic data modeling concepts for analytics and reporting.
