KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications & Marketing (50%)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports donor engagement, brand visibility, and mission storytelling.
- Create compelling newsletters, campaigns, annual reports, and appeals (digital and print)
- Develop communication materials for events, including invitations, sponsorship decks, press releases, and program journals
- Develop and implement a social media strategy to ensure cohesive messaging and strong engagement
- Maintain and update LUW's website and photo archive
- Produce monthly internal e-newsletter and collaborate with staff to create program flyers
- Manage external vendors including graphic designer, audio/visual partners, and printers
Events (30%)
- Lead the planning and execution of LUW's fundraising and cultivation events, including our annual spring gala and fall benefit concert
- Oversee event logistics from start to finish
- Develop event themes, timelines, and budgets that align with fundraising goals.
- Recruit and engage committees, honorees, and sponsors
- Draft collateral, run-of-show materials, and talking points
- Analyze post-event outcomes to continuously strengthen future events
Donor Relations & Stewardship (20%)
- Identify and cultivate new donors, event sponsors, and partners
- Represent LUW at community events, donor meetings, and public-facing engagements as needed
- Record donor interactions and communications in donor database (Bloomerang)
- Support other Development initiatives, including the annual Student Essay Contest and seasonal campaigns
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, or event planning
- Bachelor's degree required
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
- Proven experience planning and executing successful fundraising events
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Tech savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite and basic design/website software
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Commitment to the mission and values of Lifting Up Westchester
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional local travel.
