Job Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Staff is responsible for the cleanliness, safety, appearance and improvement of the facility and property.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures and equipment and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to be detail oriented.
- Ability to comprehend product labels and instructions to ensure safe product handling.
- Ability to under cleaning compounds and chemicals, their safety, and efficient use.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Ability to maintain reports and records of requests.
- Ability to multi-task and perform duties within a predetermined timeframe.
- Familiarity with personal computers helpful.
- Ability to analyze and respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with members, guests, and team.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed.
Essential Functions
1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed in the maintenance and upkeep of assigned areas and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, pressure wash locker rooms and pool deck, vacuuming, clean and disinfect sinks, urinals, toilets, and mirrors in all areas/rooms, replace soap, paper towels and other supplies, set up and clean up for events. Other duties may include periodic updates to facility plans, developing and implementing projects in support of the YMCA strategic plan and community needs.
2. Communicates status of projects and routine cleaning assignments.
3. Anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before taking action.
4. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
5. Reports all needed repairs and maintenance requests.
6. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shifts and reports and documents all incidents and hazardous conditions to the Facilities Director.
7. Understands and utilizes appropriate ergonomic safety techniques.
8. Attend meetings as directed by the Facilities Director.
9. Other duties/tasks as determined by the Facilities Director.
