The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is looking for a new leader to join the team and support the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth, YMCA Camp Carter is a year-round camp located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. Situated on 350+ acres along the Trinity River just minutes from downtown, campers enjoy the country feel while staying close to home. Facilities available include Challenge course facilities, air‑conditioned duplex cabins, swimming pool, Equestrian Center, athletic fields, biking, archery, riflery, skeet shooting, basketball court, canoeing/kayaking, volleyball court, dining hall, retreat center, and more. Camp Carter is seeking an experienced Executive to provide cause‑driven leadership.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Executive Director of Camp Carter will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the total operations of Camping Services, including: Day Camp, Resident Camp, Outdoor Education, conference and retreats, Family Camp, marketing, programs, and facilities. In addition, they will oversee daily operations, including volunteer development, financial development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, community relations, collaborations with community agencies, and budget through the vision and strategic plan. A successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and monitoring operating budgets and ensuring that operating budgets have exceeded set annual goals. YMCA Camp Carter has an Annual Campaign goal of $70,000, with room to grow. It is an expectation that the candidate live on property at YMCA Camp Carter, where housing will be provided/included.

Qualifications
Education & Certifications - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in recreation, education, business, or related field. YMCA Team Leader or Multi‑team/Branch Leader certification preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
Background & Experience
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience in camp, youth development, or nonprofit operations.
- Proven success in financial development, strategic planning, and board/volunteer engagement.
- Strong background in risk management and ACA accreditation standards.
- Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.
- A passion for camp life and a commitment to the YMCA mission.

Board Volunteer Leadership: Work with a passionate board of multi‑skilled professionals that share in your passion for camp, to drive relevancy, outreach, and support within the community.
Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and empower a high‑performing staff team that thrives on collaboration and creativity.
Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and civic leaders to expand camp’s reach and relevance.
