Our Mission
At PAQ, we are a team (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) committed to supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis people who are facing housing issues in Tio'tià:ke / Montreal. Our approach is both human and cultural, based on empowerment, harm reduction and community spirit. We are also working with a variety of partners to advance the health and housing rights of urban Indigenous peoples.
Your challenge
We need you to promote our mission and help us achieve our ambitious fundraising goals. Your role: diversify our funding sources, build relationships with new donors, strengthen relationships with our existing donors and ensure that our projects continue to grow.
The Action Plan
- Prospect and convince : You will attend meetings with new donors and funders, with an appropriate and convincing message.
- Event planning: You will support in organizing two (or more!) annual events to raise funds, motivate the team and mobilize the community around our cause.
- Set up the capital campaign : You will support the management team to organize the major gifts campaign and ensure that we reach (or exceed!) our target.
- Administer and monitor : You will write grant applications, follow up and report to donors, and maintain an impeccable database.
COMPONENT 1 – Philanthropic Development and Donor Relations
- Identify and prospect new donors or funders via different means of communication.
- Increase the number of individual and monthly donors
- Deepen and develop relationships with existing donors (individual, corporate, foundations) by providing personalized follow-up;
- Participate in the organization of annual fundraising events (min 2x/year including planning, coordination and implementation, managing budget, schedule and supplier relations);
- Participate in the organization of meetings and site visits of PAQ with our major donors.
COMPONENT 2 – Piloting the Major Gifts Capital Campaign Project
- Lead and manage the major giving campaign to raise $10 million
- Meet with funders in the presence of the Manager of Philanthropic Development and the Executive Director to open discussions on possible opportunities, prepare documentation and follow up on email efforts as part of the capital campaign (phone calls, emails, solicitation letters);
- Follow up on phone calls and emails;
COMPONENT 3 – Administration and Reporting
- Write grant applications and follow up on timelines, terms of agreement and reports with funders.
- Manage the database (Donor Perfect or another CRM) to ensure the quality, updating and optimization of donor information, while producing relevant reports (performance analysis, targeting).
- Produce personalized letters to our donors;
- Collaborates with the management team and the finance department to provide the narrative and financial reports required by donors and grantors, according to the terms of the agreements.
COMPONENT 4 - Strategic Support and Organizational Development
- Contribute to the development of new funding initiatives and propose innovative approaches to increase the organization's visibility with potential funders.
- Participate in the organization of meetings and visits to PAQ sites with major donors to promote the impact of our services and convince future partners.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Philanthropic Development Manager, progressively taking on more responsibilities and developing skills to evolve into a more senior role.
Qualifications and experience:
- Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, business administration or any other field relevant to the position (any combination of relevant education and experience will be considered);
- Solid experience in organising events or fundraising campaigns
- You've already approached major donors or partners and won their trust (and support!).
- You have an eye for new fundraising opportunities and the creativity to turn them into successes.
- You've proved that you're independent, meticulous and able to manage several projects at once... without ever losing your smile or your motivation!

Work conditions:
- Salary: Between $30.85 and $36.30/hour, depending on experience and academic profile.
- The regular schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Occasional evening work at networking events.
- Possibility of 1 or 2 days of teleworking per week, after the 6-month probation period.
- The position is based at our administrative offices located at 338, rue Saint-Antoine E, suite 402 (near Champ de Mars metro station).
- The candidate will be required to travel to our sites to fully understand the realities of the field.
- 3 weeks' holiday per year.
- 10 days of personal or sick leave.
