The mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Inc. (“JALC”) is to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Corporate Philanthropy and Global Partnerships to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the financial sustainability and global reach of our organization by cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and their philanthropic entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate philanthropy and partnerships strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Identify and prioritize potential corporate partners and sponsorship opportunities.
- Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate donors and global partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate and global partners, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective corporate partners and donors.
- Fundraising and Development
- Lead fundraising efforts to secure major gifts and sponsorships from corporate partners.
- Collaborate with the Institutional team to create compelling proposals and presentations that communicate the impact and value of partnering with the organization.
- Achieve annual fundraising targets and contribute to the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.
- Program Development and Management
- Work closely with program directors to align corporate philanthropy and global partnership efforts with programmatic needs and opportunities.
- Develop and implement partnership programs that deliver value to both the organization and its partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships, ensuring goals are met and partnerships are mutually beneficial.
- Marketing and Communications
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop materials and decks that promote our assets to increase philanthropic support.
- Represent the organization at events and meetings to enhance visibility and foster relationships.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration
- Help lead and mentor a team of development professionals focused on corporate philanthropy and partnerships.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate philanthropy, fundraising, or partnership management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts, sponsorships, and grants.
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for jazz music and the mission of the organization.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with partners and attend events.
Work Hours
JALC does not offer a hybrid work schedule. All staff work together as a team, Monday through Friday at our offices (either Jazz at Lincoln Center’s administrative offices at 3 Columbus Circle or at Frederick P. Rose Hall, The House of Swing).
