Roles and responsibilities:
The role will fulfil the following:
• Support in the implementation
of programmatic actions and work plans defined for the proper execution of the
project in Kenya.
• Map and lead dialogue with strategic actors for the promotion of Human
Rights, and in particular the rights to association and peaceful protest, at
the local and national level for the coordination and articulation of actions
linked to the objectives of the project in Kenya.
• Participation in the meetings of the project implementation team to follow up
on the execution of the activities in Kenya.
• Participation in training and monitoring activities as required.
• Lead the relationship with the youth organizations that benefit from the
project as required.
• Monitor the impact, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the
actions funded to youth organisations by cascade grants, advising and guiding
in their executions, in collaboration with the technical and financial team of
the project
• Support in the definition of requirements and selection according to the
criteria of the EU and the partners, coordination and supervision of the
consultants for the technical assistance that is foreseen in the plans of the
work for Kenya.
• Support in the preparation of activity reports, reports, obtaining evidence
and any other source of verification that is considered relevant and that
allows it to be an input for the preparation of the narrative and financial
reports of the project, as well as communication and visibility pieces.
• Support in the implementation of the communication actions carried out for
the project activities.
• Support in compliance with the Personnel Manual, procedures, procurement,
code of conduct, conflict of interest and anti-corruption policy of ForumCiv.
• Support in the implementation of the local archive policy.
• Lead the logistical coordination of events, meetings, visits and other
actions that are required within the framework of the project for Kenya.
• Field visits to accompany related issues as required.
• Participate in all activities associated with the safety and work management
system of the Regional Office of ForumCiv.
• Other tasks related to the programmatic work of the Regional Office of
ForumCiv
Requirements
ForumCiv is looking for an
individual with at least a bachelor’s degree in social sciences (law, political
science, anthropology, sociology or similar) with a minimum of five (5) years
of experience in similar positions.
1. At least five (5) years of
experience in international development cooperation programs. Although it is
not a required condition, experience in projects funded by the European Union
will be especially valued.
2. At least five (5) years of experience in accompanying the implementation of
initiatives to strengthen civil society. Although it is not a required
condition, experience with initiatives led by young people will be especially
valued.
3. Knowledge of issues related to the exercise of the defence of Human Rights
in Kenya. Although it is not a required condition, knowledge of issues related
to the exercise of the defence of the right to freedom of association and
peaceful assembly will be especially valued.
4. Knowledge of strategic actors at the regional and national level that
accompany the guarantee of Human Rights for the population in situations of
vulnerability and discrimination, and of the context/criteria for the
identification of the different realities and articulations of youth activism
and spaces for participation.
5. Knowledge and experience in main streaming the gender approach and the human
rights-based approach.
6. Skills for dialogue with relevant actors.
7. Good communication skills (verbal and written) and good knowledge of
Microsoft Office tools, as well as ease in the use of information and
communication technologies.
8. Good knowledge of basic management and accountability tools and principles.
Knowledge and experience in sub-grant procedures will be particularly valued.
